Quercus Message Link Monitor<>

Messages screen

The Messages screen allows you to enable or disable both the generation of the Outbound Messages and the consumption of the inbound messages, for each message type. It also allows you to view the status of the outbound messages triggers.

Outbound messages configuration

By enabling an outbound message, all the associated triggers relevant to that message will be enabled, so that every time a change is made in Quercus, new TRANSACTION_OUT records will be created. The ENABLED field on the APIWS_MESSAGES table will be also set to ‘Y’, so that the Message Dispatcher process will generate MESSAGE_OUT messages based on the TRANSACTION_OUT queue.

By disabling an outbound message, all the associated triggers relevant to that message will be disabled, so that every time a change is made in QuercusPlus, there will be no TRANSACTION_OUT records created. The ENABLED field on the APIWS_MESSAGES table will be also set to ‘N’, so that the Message Dispatcher process will not generate MESSAGE_OUT messages based on the TRANSACTION_OUT queue anymore.

Inbound messages configuration

By enabling an inbound message, the ENABLED field on the APIWS_MESSAGES table will be set to ‘Y’, and all the inbound messages having this message type will be processed by the Message Receiver process.

By disabling an inbound message, the ENABLED field on the APIWS_MESSAGES table will be set to ‘N’, and all the inbound messages having this message type will be ignored by the Message Receiver process.

Triggers details

Pressing the View link in the Triggers Details will display the list of triggers associated with that particular message.

In this report, you can check if the triggers are enabled and/or valid. The screen also offers the ability to validate all the triggers, if any of them is invalid, by clicking the Validate Triggers button.

User Access

There are two levels of user access for this application, implemented using APEX Authorisation schemes:

Read Only — MSG_LINK_MNGR_VIEW

Admin — MSG_LINK_MNGR_ADMIN

Two new LDAP groups will be created:

MSG_LINK_MNGR_VIEW (group members will only have read only rights)

MSG_LINK_MNGR_ADMIN (group members will be able to configure Quercus Message Link as well)

The users with Read Only role, will only see the Monitor tab — not having access to any of the configuration screens, whereas the users with Admin roles will see the Set-Up tab as well, having full access to configure the Quercus Message Link.
