The Dashboard screen consists of the following areas:

Transactions chart

Message Queues chart

Messages report

Processes report

These are described below.

Transactions chart

The Transactions chart displays the number of inbound and outbound messages waiting in queues to be processed. The time period covered by the chart is selectable, e.g. the last hour, the last 24 hours.

If you click on the lines representing outbound or inbound messages, a lower-level chart will be displayed with a separate line for each message type. For example, if you click on the outbound messages line a different line will be displayed for the BIO_DATA_OUT, STUDENT_ENROLMENT_OUT, COURSE_OUT and MODULE_OUT messages.

If you click the More button, you are redirected to the Transactions screen, where you can get a more detailed view of the Inbound and Outbound messages and queues.

Clicking on a line in the chart takes you to the Transactions screen with the messages filtered for the selected Message Direction (Inbound or Outbound) and Message Type (BIO_DATA_OUT, STUDENT_ENDOLMENT, etc).

Message Queues chart

The Message Queues chart is displaying the number of messages which are waiting to be processed in each queue for the following queues: Initial Queue, Out Queue, In Queue and Hospital Queue.

The number of messages (e.g. ‘115’ in the Output Queue icon above) is a link. If you click this link you can see how many messages are stored for each message type (i.e. BIO_DATA_OUT, STUDENT_ENROLMENT_OUT, etc), each message type being represented with a different color.

By clicking the More button, you are redirected to the Transactions screen, where you can get a more detailed view of the Inbound and Outbound messages and queues.

Messages report

The Messages report is a read-only representation of which messages (inbound and outbound) are enabled.

Clicking the More button takes you to the Set-Up Messages screen, where you can specify the message types for which Quercus will generate outbound messages and process inbound messages.

Processes report

The Processes report is a read-only representation of which processes (Dispatcher — generates outbound messages or Receiver — processes inbound messages) are enabled.

Clicking the More button takes you to the Set-Up Processes screen, where you can enable or disable the Dispatcher and Receiver processes, and configure the Dispatcher and Receiver pooling intervals.
