Quercus 8.0.2. Control Centre User’s Guide<>

New features in Quercus 8.0.2 Control Centre

The applications you can access via the APPLICATIONS tab are now determined by a combination of:

your LDAP group membership

and

the Quercus access model your organisation is running (unrestricted, person or organisation)

Prior to release 8.0.2 of Quercus users with the correct LDAP permissions could access all applications from students. Now, if you are running the person or organisation access models, you will only be able to access the applications of students for the courses or modules to which you are linked.

If your identity management application is Oracle Internet Directory or Novell eDirectory you can now add new users through the Control Centre.

Prior to release 8.0.2 of Quercus you could not add a new Quercus user through the Control Centre. New users could only be added through the external identity management (typically LDAP) application used to authenticate users.

From release 8.0.2 onwards, in environments where the identity management application is Oracle Internet Directory or Novell eDirectory, an adminstrator can add new users through the Control Centre.
