Maintaining keywords

Introduction

The sections below describe how you set up new keywords. The process is:

create a label group to contain the keywords

add keywords to the label group

associate the label group with a course

Creating a label group

To create a label group

1Choose the Courses option from the Campus Interact main menu and click the Labels Smart Link.

The Label Groups screen opens.

2Click the SET-UP tab and select the Label Groups option.

A list of existing label groups opens.

3Click Create.

Enter the details of the new label group and select a Label Type of ‘Research Keywords’.

4 Click Create.

The label group appears in the list of groups.

Adding keywords to a label group

To add keywords to a label group

1Choose the Courses option from the Campus Interact main menu and click the Labels Smart Link.

The Label Groups screen opens.

2Click the SET-UP tab and select the Labels option.

A list of existing labels (= keywords) opens.

3Click Create.

Enter the details of the new keyword.

4Click Create.

The keyword is added to the list.

Linking keywords and courses

To linking keywords to courses

In order to link keywords to a course, you associate the label group (or groups) containing the keywords with the course.

1Choose the Courses option from the Campus Interact main menu and click the Labels Smart Link.

The Label Groups screen opens.

2In the drop-down list, select the Course for which you want to enter the keywords.

3Click Add.

4In the Label Type drop-down list choose Research Keywords.

A list of the label (= keyword) groups in the Research Keywords category appears.

5Check the label groups you would like to associate with the course.

6Click Save.

The label groups are now associated with the course.

The keywords you can associate with a thesis produced as part of this course will be drawn from these groups. See To associate a keyword with the thesis.
