Parameters

The Assessment group parameters

There are a number of parameters which change the operational characteristics of the Exam Boards and Assessments module. All these parameters are accessible through the Control Panel where they belong to the Assessment group.

Available parameters

AWARD_CALC_STATUSES

List of Student status codes (delimited by comma) to be taken into account when running the award calculator for an entire course.

DEFERRAL_GRADES

List of Student status codes (delimited by comma) to be taken into account when running the award calculator for an entire course.

ASSESSMENTS_PER_PAGE

Maximum number of assessment columns on page (default 3).

ROWS_PER_PAGE

Maximum number of editable rows on page (applicable for Results Entry screens only).

It is not recommended to increase the default value unless your application sever can support it.

Please note that you can increase capacity if you hide optional editable columns e.g. Penalty, Net and Status by switching off relevant parameters (PENALTY_IN_USE, NET_IN_USE, RESULTS_ENTRY_STATUS).

After making changes to this parameter you will be required to log out and back in again to see the changes.

COURSE_EXAM_BOARD_TYPES

Comma-separated list of course exam board type codes.

ASSESSMENT_MARKER

Assessment marker in use

COHORTS_IN_USE

Cohorts In Use. Set this to FALSE if your institution does not use cohorts.

LEGACY_MODE.COURSE_BOARD

Enable Course Boards in Classic Interface. See above.

LEGACY_MODE.MODULE_BOARD

Enable Module Boards in Classic Interface. See above.

CB_STUDENT_AUTO_STATUSES

List of Student status codes (delimited by comma) to be taken into account when course instance is added to course board and the option to add students by status is selected.

DYNAMIC_CALCULATION_IN_USE

On the screen above:

If the DYNAMIC_CALCULATION_IN_USE parameter is set to TRUE (use the dynamic calculator) then, when you enter a net value for the assessment on the screen above and press Save, the values in the module Result, Grade and Status columns will be updated automatically.

If the parameter is set to FALSE (don’t use the dynamic calculator) then, when you enter a net value for the assessment on the screen above and press Save, the values in the module Result, Grade and Status columns will be updated. You will need to click Calculate to execute the calculator and update the module result.

The same applies for the screen above. If the parameter is set to TRUE then, after you click Save, the module result (actually not visible on this screen – you have to go a level up) will be automatically updated. Otherwise you will need to click Calculate to execute the calculator and update the module result.

NET_IN_USE

Display (TRUE) or Hide (FALSE) the Net column.

PENALTY_IN_USE

Display (TRUE) or Hide (FALSE) the Penalty column.

RESULTS_ENTRY_STATUS
