Setting up a course board

A course board is associated with a specific session and a specific exam sitting. You can use the same board name across different sessions and sittings. For example, if you had an Arts Faculty Course Board to review Arts subjects, this board could have separate instances for First Sitting 2014, Second Sitting 2014 and so on.

One you have set up the board you can add students, panel members and meeting dates.

Adding a student to a course board

You can only add students who belong to courses which have been added to the board. Before you can add a student you must first add the course the student is taking.

There are two ways in which you can add students.

You can add individual students.

You can add all the students on a course in a single operation.

To add individual students

1Locate the course board and click the Students tab.

2A list of students currently added to the board appears.

3Click the Add button at the foot of the list.

A search filter opens allowing you to select students. Note that the students included in the search will be those who:

are attached to the courses which have been added to the board

are not already added to board

If you leave the student field empty and click the Search button you will get a complete list of the students who can be added to the board.

4Tick the students you want to add to the Board and click Save.

In the example below we are adding the first four of the available students.

A confirmation message is displayed and the students are added to the board.

To add all the students on a course to a course board in a single operation

1Navigate to the Courses tab of the Course Board screen.

2Choose Add Students in the Tasks Panel.

3The Add Students panel opens below the course list.

4Tick the courses in the course list whose students you would like to add. In the example below there is only one course in the list – this course has been ticked and we are ready to add its students.
